I think the reason they dont teach politics in school is because they dont want to ba eccussed of unduly influencing the stydents. Maybe. Idk . My teachers generally tried to avoid talking about it when brought up. But they made us watch news round in the form room each morning and we had mock elections eveytime there was a vote for priminister or london mayor and at some point we were taught how comstituencies and parliament work but i do t remember which lesson.

First of all, my best friend is going through a kind of similar situation now as you described. I send this to her, since I can only support, but not fully understand the feeling since I never experienced this. Hoping it'll help her <3. In the beginning of my relationship it was difficult to understand what 'freedom' meant for me while connecting with someone else so deeply. Luckily him & I both value our freedom, own space, doing things apart, but also together. I truly wish everybody to find someone whom you can connect with while keeping growing as an individual. For me a relationship is about finding freedom within a connection. You are always an individual, but in a relationship also connecting with someone else. It's so important to make sure you both keep a sense of 'own', having own friends, activities. Most importantly this is about daring to allow yourselves and the other space. Also to not see each other for a week or two. The missing part every now and then always makes it SO fun to see each other again. To feel a spark. To be happy to spend a full week together. To then also be happy to chill on your own while being filled with love. For me being connected like this with my boyfriend for 3 years already gives me the ultimate feeling of freedom. However, this is my belief about relationships right now, of course for some people this might be different : ) I don't know if this message helps anyone, honestly it feels like a paradox to start talking about a relationship in a post break-up video. Nevertheless, I feel like sharing it, because I always feel inspired to read about experiences from others and what they learned from it. Even if it doesn't align with my phase of life <3 Just want to say that how difficult some moments might be, if you choose what you feel is right for you, it'll always bring you to the right direction. And therefore also to the right people who flow with your energy. Liefs (means Love from ... in Dutch :))

You dated someone for three years and then ended it over a phone call? You didn't talk in person? And this person did not hurt or betray you? They did not mistreat you? And you still love and miss him? And you feel like it was a dream relationship you always wanted? I feel like not all the details have been provided. Otherwise, this is some real narcissism modern relationship stuff. It's almost like because our generation lives in the safest time, that we have to go and create dramas to feel important and busy. And if there was a reason for a relationship break down (you fell out of love, or they mistreated you in some way, or there were clashes that were not going to work etc), then you should probably disclose that. Otherwise the idea that people are 'randomly' going to be broken up with by people who 'really love them' is a dangerous notion to normalise. Masquerading discarding someone and running away as self development is a joke. Did you two try couples therapy? Did you talk it out? Did communicate with the person you invested 3 years into? That's self-development. That's growth.

It’s actually so validating to hear that you also find yourself exploring volunteering and leaning into community during a time when you thought you’d be “corporate girlbossing”… because that is also my exact situation currently post-college! It feels strange and unorthodox but I love it.

I watched your breakup video 2 months ago when I was stressed about my relationship for similar reasons to yours and agonising about how/when to end it. Your video really helped me process my own feelings, because sometimes subtle intuitions that you're being stifled and not quite being able to be yourself any longer are difficult to properly honour as valid so it was really helpful to see someone else bring those to the surface. Now I'm 2 weeks post-breakup and despite the pain feeling proud that I stayed true to how I was really feeling instead of dismissing my internal compass. Just wanted to say thank you for being so brave and vulnerable, because it helped me find a way through this difficult moment in my own life
